Kurzweil 3000 for Web Browsers

• What is Kurzweil 3000 for the browser and how does it supplement Kurzweil 3000 Web License?
  Kurzweil 3000 is a web application that allows core Kurzweil 3000 functionality. The product functions as an extension of your Kurzweil 3000 Web License subscription, as you may access and upload files to the same web storage area in order to share files between the products. Please note that to experience all of the features that Kurzweil 3000 has to offer, it is recommended to also install the Kurzweil 3000 software on a Windows or Mac computer. • How do I login and/or add user accounts for use with Kurzweil 3000 Web License?
  You can login to Kurzweil 3000 with your account information. If you are a teacher or a student, please contact your coordinator for your login information. You may also attempt to retrieve your information using "Forgot Password" which will start a retrieval if you have an existing account.
  
  If you are the coordinator and do not have your account login, please contact customer service or use the Forgot Password feature linked above.
  
  If your organization is configured using your school logins, they will inform you how to use them via Google, Microsoft or via a special login portal.

• What mobile devices is Kurzweil 3000 compatible with?
  Kurzweil 3000 for web browsers is supported on devices that have web browsers; most devices have this support. Please review this article for more details on mobile device support.
• I'm a Standalone or Network customer, do I have access to Kurzweil 3000 for web browser?
  Kurzweil 3000 for web browsers is exclusively available with the Web License Subscription edition of Kurzweil 3000. If you are interested in upgrading your edition, please contact your Sales representative or Customer Service.
• Is it possible to roster my students and teachers via an import process?
  We offer a rostering service for eligible district and site license customers. For more information, or to check your eligibility, please email Kurzweil3000Roster@kurzweiledu.com.
• Can Kurzweil 3000 be used offline?
  It is currently not possible to use the Kurzweil 3000 website in an offline mode. However, it is possible to use the Kurzweil 3000 Web License installed client in offline mode. More information is available here.
• How do I use the “Sign in with Google'” or “Sign in with Microsoft” button?
  We now offer the ability to integrate SSO with your Google Workspace or Microsoft Azure domain accounts with your qualifying Kurzweil 3000 Site or District Web License Subscription. These login options will only function after your subscription has been configured by our rostering team. • Does Kurzweil 3000 support SSO?
  Yes, Kurzweil 3000 Subscription/Web License supports SSO through Google and Microsoft Azure for qualifying site and district license customers. • Why do I have no audio playback in Kurzweil3000.com on the Safari web browser?
  Newer versions of Safari disable embedded audio/video playback. Please see this article on how to resolve this issue.

• What's the best way to get started and explore training options?
  Sign-up for a trial. Download/Install the software for FREE for 30 days. Then go to our YouTube channel and listen to other users tell how Kurzweil 3000 changed their lives. The Kurzweil Academy is a great place to find videos and other helpful documentation.

• What are the differences between the different editions of Kurzweil 3000 (i.e.: Standalone, Network, Web License)?
  Please see below for our license delivery methods. Please note that there are expanded capabilities in the Web License and Network editions. Please contact sales for more information.
  
  Standalone - This edition is intended for use on individual computers. It comes with a serial number for activation. Standalone is best for individuals or small implementations. See the End User License Agreement for greater detail.
  
  Network - This edition involves a floating license server component. Licenses are installed from a USB Keydisk. Client software can then be installed on as many machines as desired, where they would then pull from available licenses via the server over the Local Area Network (LAN) connection. Network is best for single location school-based implementations.
  
  Web License - This edition involves a floating license component that is web based where the licenses are stored on a server hosted by Kurzweil and an Internet connection is required for access. A user management portal is included with the Kurzweil3000.com web app which allows unique user logins. Clients can be installed on as many machines (Win/Mac) as desired. Access is also available directly through the Kurzweil3000.com web app from any HTML5 capable web browser. Web License is best suited to site, district, or other wide-area implementations. Individuals may also find use for this version for mobile browser access.

  Read the web is supported on Firefox, Edge and Chrome as a browser desktop extension. You will find more information here on enabling this feature on supported devices. Read the Web allows you to read content on any website and has special tools available with our Web License edition: Screenshot reader, and a ^*PDF reader function.

• What are the differences between Kurzweil 3000 and Kurzweil 1000?
  Kurzweil 3000 and Kurzweil 1000 both offer similar functionality in that they are both reading/writing tools that provide OCR (Optical Character Recognition) and TTS (Text To Speech) utility. However, while Kurzweil 3000 provides a graphical user interface (i.e.: toolbars with buttons), Kurzweil 1000's navigation is intended to be more accessible to users who are visually impaired. This means that Kurzweil 1000 provides many keyboard shortcut commands while removing the graphical user interface. A starting point to determine which is best for your circumstances is to consider: Does the end-user access the computer using point-and-click with a mouse? If the answer is "yes", then Kurzweil 3000 may be indicated. If not, then consider Kurzweil 1000.
